For many thousands of years before modern civilisation came into being we as a human raise had a deep respect for our ancestors and held their memory with honour.
There are still many indigenous cultures across the globe today that consider there ancestors to be an intrinsic and important part of they spirituality.
This raises the question ‘why are they so important?’
To answer this question we need to journey into are ancient past of shamanism… where we find a spirituality that honours all life….. The earth, sun, moon, animals, plants and trees are all elements that make life possible.
With this in mind it suddenly becomes clear ‘why’ are ancestors were so important and highly regarded, because without them we simply would and could not be here!
There is an old shamanic expression…..
‘There are more roots than branches’
This saying simply means; it’s helpful to know who we are and where we come from, before we can work out where we are going.
The mystery of who we are begins with our ancestors, they are a link in the chain of how we came to be in the world, all of their culminated experience, knowledge and wisdom has been passed down to us to benefit from.
This retreat is an experiential exploration into the hidden world of your ancestors, honour your roots and retrace your ancestral lines using the ancient shamanic tools of rhythm, sound, dance, breath work, to activate a state of consciousness from where they can be perceived.
